古代の土器から学んだ技術を応用し､自身の制作に取り入れ、作品を制作している。表面を研磨して文様を描いたり､ウルシ科の葉を使った「燻し」の技術の研究や、焼き物の素焼き面に金液を焼き付けるという、少し型破りな手法の装飾を作品に取り入れる試みなど、新しい装飾表現を求めて技法の探求を行ってきた。また、積極的に技法研究を行っている「燻す」・「磨く」という技法は、自身が目指す「土」本来が持つ瑞々しい質感を作品に残すために欠かせない技術であり、大型のオブジェ作品を制作する際にも進んで取り入れている。
近年は「essay」というテーマを掲げ、日常生活で自身が体験したこと、思い出、考えていることなどを作品として表現している。
I apply techniques learned from ancient earthenware and incorporate them into my own production to create my work. I have explored techniques in search of new decorative expressions, such as polishing the surface to draw patterns, researching the 'smoking' technique using leaves of the poison oak family, and attempting to incorporate a somewhat unconventional method of so-called 'gilding', in which gold liquid is baked onto the unglazed surface of a pottery, into my work. The techniques of 'smoking' and 'polishing', which I am actively researching, are indispensable for preserving the inherently fresh texture of clay, which I aim to achieve in my works, and I am also willing to use them when creating large objects.
In recent years, I has set the theme of "essay" and expresses what I has experienced, memories, and thoughts in my daily life as a work.

小浜 由子
沖縄で生まれ育だち、私の町の近くには米軍基地がありアメリカ文化も私の中に大きく影響を与えています。
それらの影響を受けながら空や海、太陽の光などのグラデーション、色彩や装飾で表現したいと考えています。
I was born and raised in Okinawa, and there is a U.S. military base near my town, so American culture has greatly influenced my work.
With these influences in mind, I would like to express them through gradation, color, and decoration of the sky, sea, and sunlight.
陶器で布のような質感を再現することを目指しています。
実際の布ではできないような蓋物の形を上絵技法を用いて表現しました。
グラデーションは沖縄の空の色から着想を得ています。
陶器は土の状態だと柔らかくていろんな形になるのに、焼成すると硬くなります。
硬いワレモノなのに違う素材に感じるような作品を制作しています。
My goal is to reproduce a cloth-like texture in ceramics.
I used the overglaze painting technique to express the shape of the lid, which is not possible with actual cloth.
The gradation was inspired by the colors of the Okinawan sky.
Pottery is soft and can take many shapes when it is in clay form, but it becomes hard when fired.
I try to create works that feel like different materials even though they are hard ware.

金城 彩子
文房具の一種である『水滴』は、書の歴史とともに、中国や日本で愛されています。
そんな水滴をシンプルだけど可愛く、多くの人にコレクションしてもらえるように制作しました。
日本人の『愛でる』という気持ちを大切に、掌の中で一緒に成長し育てていく作品になれたら幸いです。
"SUITEKI", a type of stationery, is loved in China and Japan along with the history of calligraphy.
I made such SUITEKI simple but cute so that many people can collect them.
It would be great if we could create a work that grows and grows together in the palm of our hands,
valuing the Japanese feeling of "MEDERU(love)".
